Another great LSA Conference!

Well what a brilliant conference we had in Dundee.

I wanted to once again extend my thanks to Rhiannon, Chloe, Adam et al., at Abertay for an excellent conference. And to all of our wonderful members (new and old) who were able to share it with us. As ever, the conference was full of critical, diverse and interdisciplinary presentations which encouraged some fascinating debates.

Some key information:

1. LSA 2020 is already locked in for Manchester (Manchester Metropolitan) between July 7-9. The Twitter is up and running so give them a follow and keep up to date @LSA2020_ManMet.

2. If you are a new (or indeed, returning) member, please remember to log in to the member’s area of the website to find details of the research and enterprise grant scheme, get book discount codes and access member resources. If you do not yet have a username (or need a reminder), please contact Dr Louise Platt (l.platt@mmu.ac.uk).

3. While Dr Sandro Carnicelli has kindly agreed to carry on as Treasurer, we are still seeking a new Treasurer from July 2020. If you are interested in this role, please get in contact with me.

4. Finally, the Executive Committee is here to progress the work of LSA and therefore, its members. If there are any issues or initiatives you wish to be discussed at our meetings (October, Feb, May), please get in contact with myself and Dr Spencer Swain (Secretary) s.swain@yorksj.ac.uk

For those moving into their summer/vacation periods, have a lovely break. For colleagues moving into their teaching Semesters, good luck. See you all soon.

Best wishes,
Tom
(Chair)
